who’s a big boy now

This guy.

And do you know what big boys do? They poop. All over you, the bouncy seat, the stairs, and the floor. Poop dripping off their feet while trying to run down the stairs with a bouncy seat and a slow big sister leading the way and getting half way down the stairs before realizing what's going on. Ah. If he evers holds his poop for more than a day again I'm going to save myself the extra two loads of wash and dress him in a garbage bag.

What a guy.

ramblings

So many things are changing with these guys every day it's hard to keep up.

*Coloring is Samantha's activity of the week she's doing amazingly well. She doesn't stay in the lines but now instead of coloring the whole page she focuses on only coloring in the objects with purpose. Green for a face, blue for a dress, purple for the hair. And she has to know what every color is, the full name.

*While reading books tonight, Dylan started reading with me. He said words I didn't even know he knew how to pronounce but I guess after listening to the same book a couple times a day for a week he's picked up on the story. Hopefully by this time next week he'll be able to read me to sleep.

*Max sleeps unswaddled with a paci. I really don't know if the paci is necessary but we were getting sick of constant hickies on our arms. We're still working on getting sleep back to a good place but we're going in the right direction. And I'm praying he learns how to roll from tummy to back asap because currently he does not like sleeping on his tummy and rolling over is one of the first things he does when he's laid down now.

After Dylan's nap today we walked over to Mimi and Pop's for a change of scenery. After saying a quick hello to Pop we went back outside and Samantha went next door to see if Owen could play. And play they did. Owen, Emily, Samantha and D had a blast. It was like we had never moved away. Except it was totally different at the same time. Samantha and Emily were chatter boxes, Dyl was now in on the action and slightly pissed he couldn't keep up. Though he tried and it was the cutest little Frankenstein run back and forth chasing after the kids chasing the ball. It was a good spontaneous play date.

tricks in the night

Max rolled over last night! He's been getting closer and closer each day and we actually thought he would do it before bed but he couldn't figure out how to flip over his bottom arm. He woke up a few times last night. One time I went in I kept trying to put the paci in and couldn't figure out why he wasn't sucking on it. So I scooped him up and kissed his face. Except it wasn't his face, it was the back of his head!! Little guy had flipped over in the night and I was trying to get his paci in his ear. Gooo Max!

four months

13 lbs (~25%) 25 inches (50%)

Max's appointment went great. The other two made it interesting but we got through it. We talked about sleep, when to start solids, nursing. The dr wasn't concerned (at least I don't think) that he hasn't really moved up a ton weight wise but I'm keeping an eye on it. With the others I needed to start supplementing either with frozen bm or formula at 6 months so I'm wondering if this is the beginning of that. It is what it is.

Waiting for shots and ready for a nap

samantha’s bowtique

Adam put up some of the things I made for the kids' rooms this weekend. Finished this one Friday night for Miss S. All it took was a wood plaque, wood letter S, fabric, ribbon, a little bit of blue paint, and my glue gun. The only problem is it doesn't hold all of her bows. It would have to be much bigger. Much much much bigger.

weekend

We didn't have any major plans for the weekend; a few house projects, a manicure, relaxing. But it was a good one. Dyl said his first full (more than 2 words) sentence. And it was one that melted my heart. "Mommy, wuv you much!" Ditto D, ditto.

pseudo jackpot

As I went through Dylan's 6-9 month clothes bin looking for more sleepers for Max today I kept thinking to myself, whoa...Max has a whole new (still too big) wardrobe. So I pulled out and washed the 6 month stuff as well as a couple 3 month & 3-6 month stuff stuffed at the bottom(doh!!). It wasn't until I was putting it away I realized we probably won't be 'lucky' and have the weather work in our favor for these clothes. Looks like mama is going on a shopping spree. : )

singer

Dylan started singing Row your Boat tonight. And didn't stop for the entire bath. I wanted to capture this couldn't be cuter moment on video but a) my phone was charging and b) he gets camera shy. The 'ding' noise when it starts recording gets his attention every time. Hopefully when Adam gets back we can tag team the effort.
