St Nick

Only a few days late here.  All my childhood years I would get upset with my parents for not doing St Nick when all my friends did it, i.e. Tia.  To spare them of the same pain, we've started the tradition of Christmas pjs and books for St Nick.  So the night before we told Sam the story of St Nick and put her shoes outside of the door.  We nearly screwed the pooch since I didn't put the gifts in her shoes before I went to bed but I made it before she ran out of the room for breakfast.  We told her to go look at her shoes to see if St Nick left her anything and she went running out of the room...right past her shoes to the back door.  HA!  The gifts weren't wrapped but she was ecstatic nonetheless.  Christmas is going to be a good one.

halloween 2010

Phew, I'm feeling spent after another great holiday.  Trick or treating started at 3 today and at 4 Sammie was still napping, we thought she was going to miss the whole dang thing!   But once she woke up I threw on her G costume and out we went.  On second thought, her extended nap was a blessing since there was a Michael Myers sighting in my parents' area and when he was in the house she was none too pleased.  Aside from that, she had a great time!  About half way through as soon as she said thank you she would turn to me with a finger up and say "more!"  Dylan held up the entire hour in the stroller in his monkey suit.  And there was a wonderful meal waiting for us prepared by G&G Bolt once we got back, sweet.

happy Easter

for the record I L.O.V.E  holiday weekends.  I am just so incredibly tired afterwards it's hard to seem like it.  I was super cranky by the end of the day today but it happens I suppose.  Or it's the fact that I didn't get into bed until after 1 am Saturday night and had my usual 5 am nursing session with Samantha only to have her wake up for good at 7.  But I digress...

Friday was a typical night here at the bolt house...dinner and talks of a movie but the night ends with Adam passing out on the couch and me taking Brody out and going to bed without waking him to come upstairs.  But Saturday all the fun started!  First I met up with Rachel and Michelle for sushi to catch up.  So much fun.  After sushi I stopped quickly at caputos to get the ingredients for my dishes today.  It was beyond a madhouse and I'm so glad I didn't need anything from the deli.  Disaster with a capital D.  After the errands and few hours of getting things together here we took off for Riverside for the rest of the weekend.

Samantha went down for a nap like a champ when we got there so we hung out with all the parents/babysitters while they ate pizza.  She woke, I fed her and we snuck out for Will's surprise dinner.  We went out for tapas at a restaurant in their building.  It was delicious and it was soooooo nice to see everyone.  We got back to my parents super late (for me) and luckily Samantha went down for Grandma Sue no problems and had been sleeping ever since.  Success!!

Today was a nice day relaxing with the family.  Samantha was her usual lovely self and totally adapted to napping in her pack n play.  The below wasn't taken today, but it's pretty much how she is every day.  Playing with her toys and giggling at something silly mama is doing.

It may not be thanksgiving but I am extra thankful for my husband, our daughter, and our families today.  They all make my days brighter ;)

goober face

Samantha has a cold.  She's congested and sneezy.  But she's still a happy little muffin.  She's a bit more clingy than normal but still smiling and laughing.  I love that little girl.  And she's definitely not getting this happy even though sick thing from me.  I'm pretty miserable every time I get a cold and let Adam know it.

We've got a busy weekend coming up.  Seeing some friends Saturday to catch up, sleeping at my parents Saturday night and a full day Sunday with the family for Easter.  I'm expecting to have lots of fun and hoping that Samantha will adjust well to sleeping in the pack n play rather than her crib.  If not, it's not the end of the world, it'll just make it all more interesting.
