gyming it
I am Samantha's human jungle gym. She loves to crawl over me, on top of me, up me, down my legs, etc. Most of the time it includes her trying to eat me as well but it is fun. Now if I only had a gym in this house. And a personal trainer. And a nutritionist. Then, we'd be set.
In all honesty I'm moving a bit more again now that Samantha's crawling. I probably walked 5 miles a day back when Samantha needed to be walked to sleep for all naps and bedtime. Then we did Ferber and all the 'exercise' stopped. I won't lie, I really think it made a difference in me. At least that what the scale says. Now that she's crawling I have to get up and down more often. Put her down, sit with her, play with her, watch and comment as she crawls to the kitchen, get up once she's inches away from Brody's food, bring her back to the middle of the living room, repeat.
She really is a good girl. I took her to Target today for diapers and new pacis and we used the cart cover for the first time. I think she liked it. She's smiling from ear to ear in the picture I took of her. Yes I took a picture of it. But I didn't have the casio so it's on my phone! I'm not sure how to get that online if I even can.
godzilla and apples
I wanted to try and sort through Samantha's clean laundry before her next nap so I put her on a blanket in her room and brought the laundry in there to do on the floor. She decided she wanted to help me. Help me by knocking down the stacks of clothes and literally throwing her socks all over the room. She was so cute each time she did something, looking up at me and smiling, even when I told her she was being godzilla. When we were done we played for a bit and started putting the toys away. The last thing to put away was the blanket and I pretended to wrap her up like my mom used to do to me. She got a kick out of it, laughing every time I put the blanket over her head. She smiles more and more each day, adding in longer and longer giggle spells. She thought it was hilarious when I put my coat over her head to protect her from the rain on they way in to target. There's nothing better to brighten up your day than that huge smile she's got, especially when it's directed at you. She's got my heart wrapped around her.
This morning we made apples! I'd say it was a success. First she started pushing them out but pretty quickly started sucking them back in. I'm trying to decide what to do on Friday...one more fruit before back to veggies or try another veggie. If you have any suggestions let me know! To make comments on the blog there is a register tab. Inside voice
Samantha is testing out her voice. It's pretty cute. She screeches; I've started calling her baby bird because that's what she sounds like. She'll do it with me all day but really lets loose when she's around Adam. Samantha knows her partner in crime being loud is her papa. They were playing on the floor last night while I was doing dishes and she kept screaming. As I was finishing he brought her in the kitchen to watch me and she just sat in his arms screeching at us. After I while I will ask her to use her inside voice, but silly me, she's all one level right now ; )
Samantha and I ran out and did errands this morning. While at Target I browsed by the convertible car seats. S is getting rather long so I'm wondering how much longer she'll fit in her infant carrier. I'm going to start researching so that when it's time we can rob a bank and buy one. Seriously, those things are ridic.
After Sam wakes up from her nap it's carrot time! I'm making them today no matter what. Adam's got a meeting after work and I really don't want to wait until tomorrow. Samantha will no doubt get fussy but I think I'll put her in the high chair with a toy and she can watch me. So hopefully I'll get around to not only making them but giving her some too!
Target!! (update)
We went to Target, I found the ice cube trays. I was crazy before, of course target has ice cube trays.
Target Smarget
I procrastinate too much, especially when it comes to running errands with Samantha. My only goal today (besides making one of the yummiest dinners) was go to Target to get face/body soap for A, more diapers for S, and look for a few baby things needed i.e. ice cube trays, something to hold toys in. For some reason finding ice cube trays is so hard! I need them to freeze the baby food I'm making Samantha, I don't want to keep throwing away the excess if we don't get to it fast enough. After the morning nap, I took a quick peek online, target sells them online, but not in store. Arg. I checked out Walmart, the only thing that came up from ice cube tray was Friday after Next. Then I thought I'd go to Jewel, they'd have to have it. I decided to wait until Samantha went to the bathroom one more time,I didn't want to get caught using the changing table at Jewel. Waiting, waiting, waiting, nothing. Waited too long, now it's nap time again!! Which was totally messed up because of a phone call and she wouldn't go back down. We play a bit, I feed her and wonder if we can make it there before a meltdown. For one reason or another, we didn't go. And now here we are, napping again. I should just go after she wakes, but now I feel bad for Brody. He won't get to go out before or after.
